Uncensored Louisiana: Works in Progress Louisiana

Creative professionals are forced to suffer the slings and arrows of censors - until now.

Works In Progress Louisiana's first fundraiser event is dedicated to artists, poets, musicians, and other cultural workers who want to express their intellectual freedom in a safe space - right here in North Louisiana.

Cultural consumers attending this event will experience (and purchase!) the raw, emotional, challenging work of regional creatives - work that you won't see at your local gallery or coffee shop.

Dates:

March 15 @ 3PM - Artists drop off installation-ready work at 846 Texas Avenue/minicine?, and complete a submission/donation form. If you are showing previously censored work, please write a one page account of your experience...these will be posted with your work. (Keep in mind: this event is rated R.) All performing artists for this event have been pre-screened and are already scheduled.

March 16 - Installation of work

March 17 - Date of the event

March 18 @ 3PM - Artists pick up remaining work

Artists are responsible for all sales of work. Please bring your own card reader and be prepared to make change if necessary.

*All sales will benefit artists.* Artists are encouraged to donate a portion of their sales to WIPLA.

Event attendees may donate to WIPLA at the door, or via Paypal at www.worksinprogresslouisiana.com.

Buyers make take purchased artwork with them when they leave the event.

**All donations are 100% tax deductible. WIPLA is a 501(c)3 organization serving creative professionals across North Louisiana.**
